These Terms govern your use of APFE — A Place for Everything ("APFE," the "app"), a household inventory app published by Robert King ("we," "us"). By downloading or using APFE you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The short version: APFE is a one-time purchase. Syncing your inventory across your devices and household is included at no extra cost, with no subscription. Your inventory is yours. We apply generous limits on how much you can store, and we won't lower the limits you bought.
APFE is sold as a paid app through the Apple App Store. A single purchase unlocks the full app, including sync and household sharing, on every device signed in to your Apple Account, subject to Apple's Family Sharing rules where applicable.
All purchases, payments, and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms, not by us. We can't process a refund directly — requests go to Apple.
These Terms cover the version of APFE you purchased and the updates we release for it. A future major version may be offered as a separate app or a separate purchase; if that happens, the version you bought keeps working under these Terms.
APFE uses Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping access to your Apple Account secure, and for the activity that happens under your APFE account.
You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. APFE is not intended for children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent. Households you own are deleted along with their rooms, containers, items and photos, for you and for everyone you invited.
Everything you put into APFE — your households, rooms, containers, items, tags, notes and photos — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, transmit, back up, and display your content on your devices and to the household members you invite. We don't use your content for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't use it to train machine learning models. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for the content you add, and for making sure you have the right to add it.
Inviting someone to a household gives them access to everything in it, and lets them add, edit and delete its contents. Invite only people you trust with that access.
Content you contribute to a household you don't own may remain visible to that household's other members after you leave or delete your account.
APFE applies limits to how much you can store — the number of households, rooms, storage containers, items and household members, and the size of individual photos. The limits currently in effect, and how much of each you're using, are shown in the app under Settings → Manage Account → Limits & Usage.
We may set, adjust, and enforce reasonable usage limits in order to keep the service stable, to control costs, and to prevent abuse. This includes introducing new kinds of limits — for example a total storage allowance for photos — where they're needed to run the service sustainably.
This commitment doesn't prevent us from acting on the conduct described in section 6, or from applying temporary restrictions where they're necessary to protect the service or other users.
Don't use APFE to:
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these rules, and we'll try to give notice where it's reasonable to do so.
Your inventory is stored on your device, so the app keeps working offline. The sync service, however, is provided on an "as available" basis. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Keep your own backups of anything you can't afford to lose. We take reasonable care with your data, but APFE is not a backup service.
If we ever have to discontinue the sync service, we'll give reasonable advance notice and provide a way to export your data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, APFE is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to APFE is limited to the amount you paid for the app. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, in which case they don't apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
You may stop using APFE at any time by deleting your account or removing the app. We may terminate or suspend access for a material breach of these Terms. Sections 3, 8 and 10 survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and we'll communicate significant changes in the app or by email. Continuing to use APFE after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. The commitment in section 5 applies regardless of later revisions.
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for APFE. Apple is not obligated to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of APFE must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence.
